Psychotherapy – Psychotherapy tends to be longer-term and addresses more deep-rooted issues. It provides an opportunity to talk with a therapist about emotional distress, problems, lifestyle issues and patterns of relating, working together to make sense of issues from the past that are unresolved and preventing an individual from living fully in the present.
Counselling – Counselling usually takes place over a shorter period of time and has a more defined focus, often dealing with a specific issue or experience such as bereavement, loss, change, or the end of a relationship, and is focused on the present.
EMDR – Eye Movement Desensitising and Reprocessing or EMDR therapy can be used to promote healing from the emotional impact of distressing life experiences and the symptoms they have caused. It can also be used to address issues such as stress, anxiety and low self esteem.
